Dear Brian,

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of Twinlow Camp.  So mark your calendars and plan to attend Twinlow's 80th Anniversary celebration, Saturday, August 16.  Enjoy a barbeque lunch, music from Jim Moore, worship led by Rev. Dale Cockrum, outdoor fun, and fellowship.  It will be an opportunity to share stories and memories of camping, reconnect with old friends, and discover what Twinlow has in store for the future.  Stay tuned to Twinlow Ripples, Twinlow Tales e-newsletter, and your mail box for details in the coming months.  Log on at www.twinlowcamp.org/anniversary.htm for details.

Lifeguard Camp · June 29-July 4, 2008 · ages 15+

Campers will participate in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program in order to become a certified lifeguard. If you have ever wanted to work at summer camp, being a certified lifeguard is a great way to go.  Although training is our main focus, you can expect free time on the water highlighted by waterskiing, wakeboarding, and tubing.  Each day we will have morning devotion, small group discussions, evening games and challenges, crafts, and campfire.  So come on over to Lifeguard Camp -- you will learn a skill to last a lifetime while growing your Christian faith.  Find out more at www.twinlowcamp.org/events/lifeguard.htm.

Handbell Camp · August 11-16, 2008(Mon-Sat) · for Adults

Spend some time apart with other ringers in Christian fellowship on beautiful Twin Lakes.  Prepare to make a joyful noise, including an end of the week concert for the local community.  We will provide adult-friendly accommodations in Selkirk Lodge with motel-style rooms complete with bedding & towels.  Meals will be served in the Dining Hall and at Selkirk Lodge.  Ringers of all levels of ability are welcome.  Find out more at www.twinlowcamp.org/events/handbell.htm.

Family Vacation Camp · August 17-20, 2008 · Families of all types/sizes

Spring Giving Drive
You can be a Camp Champion
cross_morningwatch

Starting in May, the federal government's $168 billion Economic Stimulus Act will kick-in with the first mailings of tax rebate checks to 130 million US households. Rather than putting the money in the bank for a rainy day or buying a flat-panel TV, we would like to invite you to consider giving to Twinlow Camp & Retreat Center.

We have some growing concerns that need to be addressed around the site and could greatly use your help.  Donations from the Spring Giving Drive will help the camp upgrade our facilities by purchasing materials (and stimulating the economy) for:

  • Flooring for the Retreat Center sleeping rooms & bathrooms.
  • 50-hp motor for the Pontoon Boat, which is used during MDA Camp.
  • 20 twin mattresses for Selkirk Lodge.
  • New compressors for the kitchen's walk-in refrigerator and freezer.
  • A sail boat for use in Twinlow's growing Watersports programs.
  • New copying machine for the camp office.
  • New play structure for younger children.

Twinlow Camp is a non-profit organization thus your contributions are tax-deductible.  If you are not able to help Twinlow at this time, we encourage you to help other organizations such as your local food bank, ministries of your church, and other needy causes.  Please encourage your congregation and your friends to make a difference this spring.  Think about what we could accomplish not only at Twinlow but all over the world!
