Supporting the Ministry

Home Facilities Summer Camp & Retreats Program & Activities  Supporting the Ministry Contact Us

Since the first construction of the camp in 1922, volunteers have played a key part in the ministry of Twinlow. Whether serving as a small group leader, dean or nurse, sharing on a camp committee, trimming a trail, or building a new structure, volunteers will continue to be important to what happens in the shaping of lives at camp.  Your financial gifts go directly to improving services to campers and guests, providing comfortable retreat facilities and engaging programs.

Support the Twinlow Ministry through your...

  • Safety and good health for everyone at camp.
  • Parents entrusting the care of their children to others.

Presence Your participation in Twinlow events and programs is a great way to support the ministry.  As your partner in ministry, Twinlow provides opportunities to strengthen families and churches, encourage discipleship, develop spiritual gifts, and experience Christian community.

Your financial support of the Twinlow Ministry helps to maintain comfortable facilities, provide quality programs, and secure the future of the camp.  Consider the following:

General Operations Fund.  Twinlow relies on annual support from donors to help meet our annual expenses.  In order to continue to keep rates low, Twinlow needs 15% of its income from annual donors.  The camp’s buildings and recreational structures and trails get heavy usage and endure an ever-changing climate of heat & cold. It is important that roofs, plumbing, electrical systems and other elements have regular cleaning, repair, replacement, and care to protect the church’s investment and to have quality facilities ready for use.  To help ensure this ongoing maintenance without overtaxing the budget (and rates), individuals, groups, and churches are invited to give financially to this continuous need.  Please consider making a monthly donation or annual gift.  Click here for donation form.

Capital Improvement Fund.  As programs grow and the needs of guests change, the need for improved facilities also increases.  As a part of Twinlow's Master Plan, buildings are scheduled for remodeling and new structures are being considered to better meet the needs of campers and guests.  Individuals, families, groups, and churches are invited to contribute to the ongoing development of the Twinlow ministry.  Contact the Camp Director for more information about current projects.  Please consider a donation for the future of Twinlow.  Click here for donation form.

Living Endowment Fund.  This fund helps build a solid future for the ministry at Twinlow.  As the fund continues to grow, Twinlow will be able to use the interest to meet emerging needs for facility and program development.  Click here for donation form.

Wish List. Twinlow has a continuous need for various items to support our ministry.  Wish list items help us in food service, lodging, program, and facility maintenance.  Consider helping us locate an item or making a financial gift.  Click here to view the current list.

Adopt-a-Cabin.  Churches, families, and other groups are invited to join our adopt-a-cabin program.  Help us maintain and support our cabin community and other facilities through your gifts and service.

Serving Jesus Christ as a volunteer makes a difference in people’s lives and strengthens one’s own faith.  The Twinlow Ministry has many different ways to serve children, youth, adults, and families.

Summer Camps & Retreats.  Our United Methodist program camps utilize volunteers as event deans, craft teachers, music leaders, small group leaders, camp pastors, and health care providers. This is a great opportunity to be in ministry. Click here for more information on current volunteer opportunities.  Or, send us an email at twinlowcamp@msn.com with your preferences.  You can make a difference in the life of a child!

  • Volunteer as a camp dean, small group leader, or program leader for our summer camp program.

  • Volunteer to be a health care provider or camp pastor during a week of camp.

  • Volunteer as support staff (kitchen, grounds, office) during the summer.

Work Parties.  Ongoing camp operations require carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, landscaping, trail trimming, housekeeping and many other skills. Here is your opportunity to work on maintenance and improvement projects at Twinlow. You may join our annual Spring Roundup (Memorial Day Weekend) or Fall Cleanup (October).  To arrange a time for your church or youth group to come for a special work party, contact the camp.

Weekend Host.  Plan to spend a weekend at Twinlow during the fall, winter, or spring, assisting the camp’s ministry.  Individuals, couples, or families are invited to help with hospitality, food service, and small projects.  Contact the Camp Director for details or available dates.
